£90 expenses investigation cost taxpayers £500,000 - Times Online

A policeman who sued Lancashire Police for racial discrimination after the force spent three years and an estimated £500,000 investigating allegations that he fiddled £90 on his expenses has now settled the claim out of court.

Detective Constable Jayson Lobo, 37, of Blackburn, Lancashire, was suspended from his job on full pay for three years in September 2003 before he was cleared in a criminal court and by an internal force investigation.

Mr Lobo, who admitted making genuine mistakes in his expenses, was cleared of 12 counts of false accounting and one of attempting to pervert the course of justice when the prosecution offered no evidence at Liverpool Crown Court in 2005.

It's not just that the police are mad dogs running in the street, there's a system of corruption that goes all the way to the top.

Orlando cops to carry machine guns

Members of the Orange County anti-crime unit will carry automatic submachine guns to combat heavily armed criminals roaming Central Florida streets.Sheriff's deputies who patrol areas around South Orange Blossom Trail have the same stories to tell, going up against criminals with powerful guns almost every night, Local 6 reported."(It's) a simple concept: Where there's drugs, there's going to be guns," Orange County sheriff's Cmdr. Al Rollins said.

This should work out well. How long do you think it will be before they shoot some old lady and try to say it was drugs?
